DPI Security Officer Screening and Training

Our comprehensive security officer screening and training program prepares our officers for situations they’ll encounter on the job. Prior to getting accepted for DPI Security Training, a staff member interviews every candidate, checks their references and administers a drug screen. A third-party vendor runs background checks covering the previous 10 years.

All officers must hold Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) certification, and our intensive course offers a comprehensive curriculum that exceeds DPSST requirements. Our supervisory staff members who lead trainings have extensive backgrounds in the military, law enforcement and specialized security operations. DPI Security Officers are trained in areas like crisis intervention, de-escalation, asset protection, security access control, evacuation procedures, customer service and report writing.
